The defence systems manufacturer MBDA has had its site in Bedfordshire protected against protection to the highest level. With the safety of personnel at the top of the agenda, the protection methods chosen have been a combination of isolated system types including catenary protection using tall masts with suspended conductors over the buildings.

Cuttings were engaged to supply and install specialist lightning protection using an isolated design method whereby lightning current is captured by finials and transferred to earth by highly insulated down conductors, thereby minimising the effects of the lightning current on the building or it’s sensitive equipment.
