We are proud to announce Cuttings are among the first UK contractors to be accredited to the Common Assessment Standard (CAS).

This scheme will ultimately ensure that contractors only have to pre-qualify with one provider, and we chose the Achilles Building Confidence platform as our preferred assessment route.

Less time on pre-qualification means that we can focus even harder on providing the service that our clients want.

We are thrilled to announce that Adam Bateman is joining the Cuttings family.

Adam has 30 years experience in our industry and will bring a wealth of knowledge and will head up our venture known as Cuttings East.

We look forward to working with Adam and developing a new regional office, from which we will deliver the same first class service that clients have learnt to expect from us.

A follow up on our work at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew.

Congratulations to our client Halsion Ltd, and to the main contractor ISG on the spectacular refurbishment Temperate House. The Grade I listed building is the largest Victorian glasshouse in the world, and thousands of plants had to be removed and stored during the works.

An amazing job has been done to preserve and sympathetically modernise this glorious building for future generations of both plants and hu

We've now taken delivery of 3 of the latest plug-in hybrid cars for our fleet

We're now at almost 65% of our car fleet as hybrids, so reducing our impact on the environment. By 2020 our target is 75% and by 2022 it's 100%.

Needless to say, but the electric charging points at our offices are proving to be very popular!

Constructionline Level 3 Gold

To expand on our Constructionline accreditation, Cuttings have now achieved the Level 3 Gold standard.

This adds to our ability to demonstrate our competence to our client base, where we like to think that all customers are in safe hands with us.
The Waldorf, Aldwych

We're delighted to be back working at this iconic hotel.

As part of a phased refurbishment on this Grade 2 Listed Building, going back to 2005, Cuttings are being brought back to continue with the upgrade of the Lightning Protection System - this stage is the glorious front elevation.

Cuttings are delighted to have been selected to work with Homes for Haringey.

Following the tender process, we will start a 5 year maintenance programme for the borough wide housing stock, including Risk Assessments and compliance reviews. Our Kevin Fox spearheaded the tender, and has a growing team including Billy Limby (Testing Manager) and Jason Howard (Repairs Manager).
We have always maintained a policy of quality service at a fair price, and and it is encouraging when this is recognised.

The 17th May 2018 was something of a historic day for Cuttings.

With the AGM's of both the Steeplejack and Lightning Protection Training Group (SLPTG) and ATLAS being held on the same day we saw our Operations Director Paul Cripps becoming Chairman of the Training Group and our Managing Director John Jolly being elected as President of ATLAS.
Together they intend to ensure that the industry is connected and that training is delivered effectively.

John Blanks, our manager in charge of Quality Control took delivery of his new car on his birthday. John has been with Cuttings for 28 years and looks after our post-installation inspections and operative training and development.

His new car is our latest plug-in hybrid which now takes our fleet tally to over 50% of all company cars as either fully electric or hybrid meaning that we have achieved our target for 2018. By 2020 our target is 75% and by 2022 it's 100%.

Happy driving John. Sorry that there was no ribbon.

It's great to be working back at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew!

Having undertaken a site wide programme to risk assess and install lightning protection to all relevant buildings at the site between 2012 and 2014, we are now back on site as the term maintenance contractor and are subcontracted on the ISG refurbishment of the impressive Temperate House.

The Grade I listed building is the largest Victorian glasshouse in the world, and twice the size of the Palm House. It houses an internationally important collection of temperate zone plants, including some of the rarest and most threatened. Currently closed for restoration, it will reopen to the public on 5 May 2018.
