In November Cuttings Lightning Protection were awarded the contract for specialist lightning protection at Oak Park Dairy in Exeter.

The project involves the installation of an 'isolated' protection system using High Voltage Insulated (HVI) conductors supplied by DEHN UK Ltd.

This method is designed to capture the lightning current above the structure being protected and then to safety take that current to earth without risk to the building/structure and is particularly required for buildings with an explosive risk.

October saw Cuttings Lightning Protection awarded the contract on the £50m revamp of NHS Hellesdon Hospital in Norwich.

Steels frames for the new ward blocks have already commenced and the project is aiming to complete by the end of 2024.

Cuttings are installing a Lightning Protection system to all new buildings.

September saw Cuttings Lightning Protection win the Lightning Protection installation work on Phase 3B of Gascoigne Estate in Barking.

Construction has started this summer, with homes finished by the beginning of 2026.

Main Contractorr, Wates, will use modern methods of construction such as offsite production of balconies, bathrooms and utilities cupboards to reduce construction time on site.

Birmingham developer Court Collaboration has signed up JRL-owned main contractor Midgard to deliver its 51-storey project One Eastside scheme.

One Eastside will be the city’s tallest residential tower at over 154m and will be Midgard’s second tallest project, after CanaryWharf’s 65-storey Consort Place.
